Definition of streets priority to employ urban green infrastructure in Baghdad City

As climate change impacts are getting more destructive over time, defining the appropriate adaptation strategy becomes an important issue for many vulnerable cities. Urban green infrastructure or (UGI) can present efficient in this field. Planning such at city scale, requires definition of priority locations to have a vital solution. Based on that, research aims define streets employ new UGI assets Baghdad, as way adapt phenomenon urban heat island which has increased rapidly past decades. The level is based rate streets' exposure solar radiation which, turn, relates physical parameters. So, it multi-parameters process. By using GIS ArcMap, parameters Rusafa municipality -in Baghdad city- mapped and overlayed. Three main considered: canyon aspect ratio, orientation shading level. results mapping each parameter discussed separately and, overlaying process relation displayed detail. analysis reveals with higher assets. Most these located modern pattern part study area, highest land surface temperature they wide, unshaded, northwest-southeast orientation. On other hand, lowest specified either wide but sided canyons part, deep northeast-southwest traditional area.
